Need some advice with your gift registry? Here’s what the experts at Thankyou recommend:
Write a personalised welcome message for your guests.
Many occasion organisers love to personalise their welcome message and while we have made this step easier for you with a default message on your gift registry, you are always free to edit this or create one for your guests. Just below the welcome message field is another section where you can provide additional information about your occasion (time, date, links to venue maps, driving directions and reserved parking spaces etc). You may also use this field to remind your guests to RSVP online.
Use the online RSVP feature.
thankyou’s online RSVP is designed to make your guest list management a whole lot easier. When your guests log in to your registry they can RSVP right away. This list can also be downloaded and printed for your ultimate convenience. Your guests can also send you a message through the telegrams section on the same page. Another unique feature of our online RSVP is a field for your guests to specify their dietary requirements and any allergies that they may have, which will help you carefully manage and select food items on your menu that can be enjoyed by all of your guests.
Create a customised guest access link.
Purchasing a guest link upgrade will make it easier for your guests to find your online gift registry. Without this upgrade, they will have to go through a search for your name, occasion and date on Thankyou’s Find A Registry section. A guest URL, for example, www.thankyou.com.au/sarahandhenry ,when typed on their browsers will take them directly to your gift list.
Here’s an extra tip – you can request our customer service team to provide you with invitation inserts that indicates your personal guest URL. Just send an e-mail to info@thankyouregistry.com.
Have at least the same number of gifts as guests attending the occasion.
It is natural for guests who get invited to a special occasion to bring a present, and your gift registry will be their guide in purchasing one for you. Create a gift list with, at the very least, the same number of items as guests attending your event (especially if it’s a wedding) so everyone who wishes to bring a present gets a chance to select a gift that you will like.
Over the years, we’ve seen many guests who purchase two or more items on a gift registry and because of this, we advise occasion organisers to always keep their lists updated so their other guests who log in a few days before and after the occasion will still have a chance to purchase something off their registry. You may also list an unlimited number of contribution gifts for your guests to give to. This option will make it more convenient for your guests since they won’t have to shop around for gifts anymore. They can simply give cash contributions using their cards.
List a combination of SSE and contribution items with a variety of prices.
In deciding what items you will include in your gift registry, you need to always make sure that you list gifts with various range of prices so that your guests have more options. Some guests would prefer to shop for the gift after removing it from your registry while others love the convenience of giving cash gifts, thus, we encourage occasion organisers can create a gift registry that has a blend of SSE and contribution items.
